About Asian Resource Network
What is Asian Resource Network?
DHTI’s Asian Resource Network (ARN) project, launched in 2020, is funded by the Department of Developmental Services to promote Service Access and Equity. ARN aims to increase access to services for Asians navigating intellectual and developmental disabilities through community outreach and engagement, workforce development.
Asian Resource Network provides language support to you or your family members who need intellectual & developmental disability service in Chinese and Vietnamese and connect to the Regional Center of the East Bay for screen and assessment.
You can become a fast-track respite worker by taking a no-cost fee basic training online course on respite care for people with disabilities. With a flexible schedule, you can study at your own pace, and you can receive coaching and employment assistance after completing the self-study course.
Our Goal
To improve quality of life among Asian individuals and families who navigate developmental disability through increasing access to and familiarity with Intellectual & Developmentally Disabled (IDD) service providers with three core objectives.
Impact
“I went to DHTI because I wanted to start my career in healthcare where I could earn a decent wage and find opportunities for growth. I earned my Direct Support Professional certificate in only three months. DHTI’s program was entirely free. The training was provided in my native language by supportive teachers and they connected me to employment. Immediately after getting my certificate, I got a job as a healthcare provider working with Asian-language speaking Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled patients.” -M.Y.Lee
